“True generosity consists precisely in fighting to destroy the causes which nourish false charity. False charity constrains the fearful and subdued, the “rejects of life,” to extend their trembling hands. True generosity lies in striving so that these hands — whether of individuals or entire peoples—need be extended less and less in supplication, so that more and more they become human hands which work and, working, transform the world.” — Paulo Freire (from The Pedagogy of the Oppressed)
Below is a list of hyperlinks which will connect you to information about the concepts which inspired FoxMoon Haven:
Seven Spiritual Laws of Success
Beyond demonstration and education, FoxMoon Haven is interested in homestead incubation. Homestead incubation involves helping those who would like to begin their transition to self-sufficiency. The program goal is to empower everyone everywhere to reduce world havoc and increase universal well-being.
Whole Human Development is another key concept for us here at FoxMoon Haven. To us, whole human development involves helping people develop competence in all realms of human existence, ie: Mechanics, Emotion, Food Production, Art, Civics, Fitness and many other subjects which combine to make a whole, competent, and actualized human being. A great example can be seen here, via One Community.
Whole Human Development and Permaculture combine to facilitate one base goal:
The Maximization of (healthy) Joy and the Minimization of (unnecessary) Suffering.
